No Bios? Hmmm...

Wow, this is the weirdest PC problem I've come across.

Well, last Friday, I got my new motherboard, a spiffy new MSI K7T Turbo-R. Ok, so I get it all hooked up, and boot it up. Yahoo it actually boots 🙂 I hit DEL to get into BIOS to look around, but... there's only a white blinking cursor in the top left hand corner of the screen. Hmmm... What's the deal? I got frusterated so I just formated my HD and installed Win2k. I ask a few people on IRC about this problem, and they give me suggestions. I flashed the BIOS to the newest one, I cleared the CMOS, and I even left the CMOS battery out for about 3 hours. I'm about to call MSI up Tuesday and ask for a new BIOS chip.

If you guys know how to fix this problem, or can offer any suggestions, it would be appreciated. TIA

okay im not mr smarty pants here.. but dont you need the bios to boot the computer? maybe it's jsut defective when you press the delete button.. i mean one has to be there... right?

yeah without the BIOS your operating system can't communicate with your hardware.. the BIOS is the middle-man kinda deal./.
