Best Buy wants me to call them to apply for a job. They'll ask me questions right there, I have no time to think about how to answer it.

Someone call this number: 1-888-3BEST-BUY and write down the questions for me, so i can think about it before I call ;)

Mods, sorry about all those posts, it didn't post when I press Post, so i got mad and kept on pushing the darn button

Think of three of your best traits. What would be three traits you would want in your co-workers. If you saw someone stealing something what would you do. And the list goes on.

Don't worry about the phone call. It's no problem. They ask a bunch of stupid questions. Use common sense, you'll be fine. Every BB employee had to call that number. It takes like 5-8 minutes. I work part time at my local BB, started 2 weeks ago. good luck

No offense, but if you cant pass the basic questions any minimum wage job asks, then you would still be working on that tricky "breathing" thing.

You'll be fine.

Yes you have to be 18 to work at Best Buy. About those questions, they are common sense questions with no correct answer. They will ask you about your answers during the interview. Good luck!

I had to take one of those phone questionaires when I was applying to KB Toys, and it was a big joke. Sure it was all the typical questions about theft and drugs and such but the test held absolutely no weight. It was used as an excuse to hire the people that the manafgers didn't like. If they didn't want to hire you for whatever reason they would say it was because of the phone interview.

Don't worry it's just one question, "Do you have the ability to ignore long lines at the checkout isles, even if customers beg you to open up more lanes?" Just answer an emphatic "Yes!!!" and you're in! :)

Wow. I failed that Best Buy application for employment test. heh.

So like were you supposed to be sympathetic to the employees or the company in those questions? I said "Yes" to firing workers for stealing $10, thats the only one that struck me as being possibly the only question which hurt me.

And Alpha - don't be such a prick. If you don't get the job you don't get it. And a callback if you do pass it doesn't guarantee employment. If BB doesn't like how you answer the questions within the time frame that you can review the answer to the question, screw em.

me and my friend called that before. It was like press one for yes , 2 for no. So it goes would you wear khaki pants , 1, would you stand for long periods of time, 1, would you come on time , 1 , and so on, then suddenly, do you smoke crack , 1. Crap. My friend did that, he didnt get the job, accidentally pushed 1. haha

All employeers(atleast most) make you take that test, either by phone or you write them down and the person hiring you calls it in. I took one. Theres really no way you can "fail" them. They are basically to assess of you will be a good employee or a trouble maker, well if you answered truthfully. Age varies, it probably depends on the job. All I can say is, don't get a job at grocery store. Don't do it, I repeat DON'T do it. You will have tons of bosses, and if its a big chain, good luck with the store politics.

I actually failed that test, oh well, that was two years ago.
I have no idea why, I'm not an idiot. I told them what they wanted to hear, like I hate stealing, etc...

Oh well, I am making good money now so screw them.

Worked there for a while two years ago, when I was 17. The phone interview is nothing if you are honest. It took some help from friends on the inside to get my application pushed through though. They seemed to be pretty bad about that. I guess giving that extra effort to get hired is what they are looking for.

So you Best Buy people...why the hell don't you open up more checkout isles???? Is it company policy to have two dozen blue shirts mindlessly walking around while only one blue shirt helps people check out???? Please clue me in here.

so... you can't repond to questions you've never heard of before, BUT you expect to work in a position where people will be asking you quesitons ALL THE TIME!

I think you'll fit in just fine there Alpha IVT.

chipbgt, I've been in quite a few Best Buys in my day. Only one time did I see a checkout employee ask for backup from the other 100 blue shirts milling around. I was stunned. I wanted to applaud that employee! Hasn't happened since, though. That cashier must have been an ex Circuit Sh!ty employee.
