Well that would be something so scratch the last "no nothing" because I have nothing.

Sunday I swapped out my old mobo-cpu for my new one (duron for xp1800+) and my ps. I used to have no problems. Now neither works and both for the same reason -- they power up, but dont ever send anything to the monitor. It doesnt matter which CPU, MOBO or PS, I get nothing, no beeps, no bios, nothing. Could this be that the mobo's are being shorted? What is a list of things it could be? I have played musical reseat for hours and am down to testing over and over with nothing but CPU (+hsf) MOBO and Vidcard.

I have not had a working computer for 3 days and at this point would looove to have my old set up working smoothly and forsake my old one entirely. Can someone provide a list of things this could be?

If the cpu was messed wouldnt I get a beep?
Could both mobo's be messed? and if so what would that result in? These symptoms? Or others?

Any and all help would be much appreciated.

W

edit details:
new mobo - a7v333
new ps - enermax eg465p 465w
old mobo - an early abit socket a board,
old ps - an antec 300w ps (that worked for 2 years straight with my old mobo)

Im not running it wih any ram until I see it actually display the bios or anything on the monitor. I tried on the foam from the mobo box and the same things happened. Im not even getting any beeps -- which I think is very odd. Next Im gonna try reseating the cpus.

are you <<SURE>> that you attached the cpu fan to the cpu fan header. I understand that many Athlon MB's refuse to power up if the MB does not sense the fan running...

You need to put the ram in! Why won't you barebones it using ram??? You will not get in the bios or get a display on the monitor without ram in the board!

And has been mentioned the board has the post reporter enable by default so you won't get diagnostic beeps.
