No beep and there is a blank screen on startup...

I'm trying to set up the old Compaq computer for a student. However, when I start it up, there is no beep at all and the screen is blank. Everything is plugged in correctly and still no bios splash screen or beeps.

The hard drive is being checked, so I know that works. Everything seems to be working except there is no beep and nothing shows up on the screen.

I was thinking it was a dead cmos battery, but shouldn't there be a bios screen anyway?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Dead battery will just flash a warning message, not a problem. Reseat the memory and video card if there is one.

Thanks. I pulled the video card and it worked fine. Stupid onboard video!
