No auto hibernate

I can only get my system to hibernate manually. Otherwise, it just stays in standby mode. I've the latest bios and drivers. Event viewer doesn't indicate anything amiss. Could it still be a service or process preventing automatic hibernation? A listening port? A cordless mouse?

System:
ECS K7S5A mobo w/ onboard sound and lan enabled. (SiS735)

Could be anything. I would recommend that you do not use hibernate or standby.. usually causes problems eventually.

Go into your BIOS and make sure your power settings are correct. Also disable the power settings set to wake on connection.. like LAN, Modem etc.

If you don't have any services disabled it wouldn't be that, but you can make sure that all the services that are supposed to be running say Started next to them.
 
There's a tab in your Power Options named Hibernate. If you check that out, there's a box that says "Enable Hibernation". Try checking that box and seeing if it'll hibernate automatically. Also, there's an option in the Power Schemes tab that allows you to select time amount of time before your system goes into hibernate mode. You might want to check that also and make sure that it doesn't say "Never". Hope this helps.
