Here is the setup:
ECS L4S5MG/651+
1 GiG of PNY 2700 RAM
A-Open 4200 Nvidia Video Card
The rest are intergrated devices
Firewire
USB
LAN
Sound w/ Line-in, Line-out, and Mic jacks.
Microsoft natural Multimedia Keyboard
Microsoft coreless Explorer 3 mouse.

I am using this just for e-mail/audio/multimedia/some games..nothing intense.

I re-formatted and Install Window2000Pro instead of Window XP. (just my taste.)

Everything works just fine..purring as a contented kitten.

Except the audio.

I can't get any audio or and sounds to come out of the speakers.

The Speakers itself are fine. (tested on other system.)
The jack is connected to the Line-in. (Lime color)

I am using this audio driver-- C-Media 9738/9739 Codec Sound Driver 023 build 15
11/11/02 from ECSUSA.com website.

So far, the driver is okey in the device manager, no yellow exclamation mark.

Is there anything else I need to troubleshoot? any more drivers for this motherboard?

Thanks to all who post.

SH.

Have you tried looking in the sound and multimedia properties to make sure the devices correctly show up there?

Have you tried pluigging the speakers into the speaker connector rather than the line in?

That is an input, used for recording. You need to attach the speakers to the line-out jack.
