No audio from my AIW card...

I recently put together a new PC...& just have a few things to work on still.

My motherboard is the Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe.
Now when i was installing my ATI 9600 AIW Pro card, i was missing the little audio cable that goes from the AIW card to the motherboard (normally it'd go from the AIW card to my sound card, but i do NOT have a sound card, so it has to go to the motherboard, unless i am mistaken).
I found a multiple ends cable that fit, & hooked it up to the mobo where it says aux (below the disk drive audio cable connection).
That should have given me audio when watching TV on my PC, since for all video in, i currently have no audio.
But it didn't.
So what did i do wrong?

Sorry if i didn't explain the situation better; i'm not sure how to describe it any better.
If anyone can help, thanx in advance :)

Go into the initialization wizard in MMC and select AUX as your sound input. Also open your sound controls and make sure the AUX line is not muted.

Try hooking the av out cable up and connect it to the line in on the mobo. Run the initialization wizard and select line in and see if you get sound.

I agree. It should be connected to the line in and then make sure you turn up your linein in XP.

Pardon my ignorance.

I'm assuming you mean hook up the yellow audio cable that comes from the dvi out adaptor to the s/pdif on the mobo?
