Why havn't I heard of the 84.22 drivers? strange, I thought they went from 84.21->84.25.

Anyway, you go to Performance & Quality Settings, and you hit "Add Profile" if you want to add a new one. Can you at least get that far?

You can also arrow down on the Active Profile thing if you ever need to change a profile.

So can you at least get to any of those? Cause I forget if you need Coolbits installed to do it.

The latest driver on nVidia's site is 84.21 so I'm guessing you're talking about this one from guru3d.com. Note the warning on the page:
This is NVIDIA ForceWare 84.22 as recently found on the web. These drivers seem to be a nice set. In it's original from only a couple of GeForce cards where supported so a modified .inf was included to make these drivers compatible with a large number of NVIDIA GeForce Graphics cards.

Original this was a WHQL set, due to the modification to support other GeForce graphics cards this certification was lost. It's a nice set of drivers, give them a try.

Although response is good please bare in mind that this is beta driver. Use them at your own risk.
Uninstall the driver, and roll it back to your previous, working setup to make sure your system is still working that way. You should delete all previous nVidia drivers and reboot with the native nVidia driver in XP before installing a new one.

If you're hot to try drivers newer than official nVidia releases, guru3d has an even newer driver version 84.26. It's also from a single source, MSI. The page has the same warning that it is a beta version, but it suggests it may be friendly to more cards:
MSI just released this driver for their desktops, and hey .. it also happens to be latest 80 series driver out. These drivers seem to be a nice set. These drivers are compatible with a large number of NVIDIA GeForce Graphics cards.

This also is a WHQL set. It's a nice set of drivers, give them a try.

Although response is good please bare in mind that this is beta driver. Use them at your own risk.

We included a modified .inf file with this archive (courtesy goes to Pieter from laptopvideo2go) which you can use if your graphics card is not supported. Simply copy the modified inf file into the setup directory and then install the drivers the old school way:

> Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Diaplay Adapters > your graphics card > Driver > Update
Note -- Spelling and grammatical errors in the above quotes are from guru3d's pages. :p
