No AA on Everquest II?

So I installed this Everquest II game and from what I heard it was really good. I've seen screenshots of it and thought I might try it out.

Once it was installed and I had a character made and underway, I got into the game and started adjusting some settings. Under the performance section I moved the slider bar to the highest quality, "Extreme Quality" or something like that...., and it hurt bad. I couldn't believe that it was bringing my system to its knees. We're talking low 20's and teens for frames.

Naturally, I went through and adjusted the settings until I thought it looked good and performed well, I think I settled for the second or third position from the top, "Very High" or "High" quality or something. Anyways...

I then noticed that I had no AA on, so I exited the game, went to the driver control panel for my card (X1900XT) and turned the Cat. A.I. to "Off" and forced 4xAA.

Loaded it up, and no AA.

I then tried Cat. A.I. as "Low" and forced 4xAA again. Nothing.

I finally tried Cat. A.I. as "High" and forced 4xAA again. Nothing still.

I was using WarCat 6.6's + Chuck, so I figured I'd at least try some official drivers. I downloaded the 6.11's from DAMiT's site and install them. Repeated the same process of trying to force AA. Nothing.

So, does anyone know what is going on? I know the game supports AA but I can't find an in-game setting to enable it and everywhere else I've looked at has been forcing them through the control panels.

Cliff Notes:

[*] Installed Everquest II having Warcat 6.6 Chucks.
[*] Tried to force 4xAA through control panel (Cat. A.I. Off)
[*] Tried to force 4xAA through control panel (Cat. A.I. Low)
[*] Tried to force 4xAA through control panel (Cat. A.I. High)

[*] Switched to the WHQL Cat. 6.11's.
[*] Tried to force 4xAA through control panel (Cat. A.I. Off)
[*] Tried to force 4xAA through control panel (Cat. A.I. Low)
[*] Tried to force 4xAA through control panel (Cat. A.I. High)

[*] Nothing has worked.

Your system is similar to mine, X2 4200(AM2), 2GB DDR2-800 RAM, X1900XT, at a Dell 2005FPW@1680x1050. You're getting similar frames to what I used to get as well, though I haven't played recently, so newer drivers may have brought additional performance. EQ2 is a very demanding game, particularly as you crank up the visuals. I found that turning terrain textures down and disabling or lowering shadow detail gave me the most bang for my buck in terms of performance.

Boberfett already gave you how to set the AA, though I don't think its really necessary in EQ2 at 1680x1050. I can hardly tell the difference between AA modes in a lot of titles, so I'm probably not the best source. :p

Hey that did it! Thanks a bunch guys.

I can't believe this game is still as taxing as it is. Forget Oblivion and the like, this game stress every part of you PC. Hopefully that changes when I go to Conroe in less than a month. Has anyone played it on an 8800GTX?
