The computer works fine, but at boot up I get a message saying "No 80 pin conductor cable installed"
It appears right after it detects all the IDE devices.

Does anyone know what this means?

Your cable may be bad, or your ATA/66/100 drivers are not loading, or loaded. Check in device manager and make sure everything is Jake there. Also let us know what type of board/setup you have. You may need to jumper something.

Also make sure the blue end is plugged into the controller card or mobo and other end on the HD.
