no -5v wire on ATX connector

found an old PSU that doesn't have a -5v(pin #18) wire on the ATX connector.
will this kill my hardware?
planning to use it for a computer made of spare parts
 
googling didn't really help, but i do remember reading from several places that the -5v isn't used anymore. I just wanted to make sure.

Yeah, mine doesn't have either (5 or 12) negative rail. Soon none will. You can go to formfactors.org and look up the latest ATX spec and you'll see that one or both of the neg rails is missing.
