No 5.1 Support for sblive in Win2k!?!

How many people here have a sweet dvd/sblive setup with a dolby digital 5.1 speaker system and installed win2k just to find out there is NO support for 5.1 in win2k? And after watching movies in full 5.1 digital, there is no way I can watch them in stereo again...

Do you think CreativeLabs will add support eventually? Or maybe they have some "secret" agreement with M$ to keep 5.1 support only in win98/me so it forces people like me to purchase both operating systems :|

I guess not many people have a dvd/5.1 setup, which would be one reason why Creative isn't too concerened with 5.1 support in win2k. In the meantime, I'm going to research whether Creative's competition does have support. I'd rather not fuss with dual-booting.

There is no Dolby Digital passthrough but I think if you have an SBLive! 5.1 you can use creative's software dolby digital decoder and output 5.1 channels.

If anything it's a creative scam to make people buy an SBLive! 5.1

No seriously though, I think it's a problem on the Win2k side not creative's....using the Live! 5.1 and software decoding should work, and using DVD Decoder boards and the output there works ok I think.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's just Win2k using SPDIF passthrough doesn't work.
