Question No 144Hz on GTX 750Ti?

Before you say its not a good idea to use a 750Ti for games, let me mention that this is NOT for games. I just want to get 144Hz refresh rate for general use.

I'm using a HDMI 2.0 cable and the monitor supports 144Hz(Freesync)

I wonder why the maximum refresh rate I can select in Windows is 70Hz...

Is it because the video card doesn't support that(old HDMI port) or is it because the monitor is "freesync"? But again, this is NOT for games!

The older HDMI port probably lacks the bandwidth to drive that refresh rate at whatever your resolution is. If the card has a DisplayPort output, that will likely allow for 144 Hz.

I have a laptop with a 850m (the same as a 750ti) with an external monitor connected to it via HDMI that refreshes at 75hz, the resolution is 1080p. I have no problems hitting that 75hz.

70hz is a quite strange limit.

Need to know what resolution you are using.

1080p @144Hz (4:4:4) should be possible but 1440p is limited to 75Hz (4:4:4) 120Hz (4:2:2) & 144Hz (4:2:0) with 4K 30Hz (4:4:4) and 60Hz & 75Hz (4:2:0). That is using the HDMI 1.4a that the GM107 supports.
