I've got 2 hard drives, both using NTFS. I want to make a ghost image of C: (which contains windows and all my apps) do my D: drive. I know how to do this, and I've done if before on a previous PC, so I know I'm doing it right - but I've got a problem.

When you start ghost, it detects both the drives fine. After selecting the drive I want to image, I select Local -> Partition -> To Image and it asks me where I want to save the image file. However, it only gives me the option to save it to the floppy drive or my CD writer (I could use CD, but it's a pain in the ass and will take about 10 CDs) - it won't allow me to choose any hard disks.

I've tried this in both Ghost 2002 and 2003. Does anybody know of a fix for this? Or any other drive imaging software I can use?

Thanks.

Old versions of Ghost could not write to a NTFS partition. However, Ghost 2002 and 2003 should be able to do this. If you want to try another software, Drive Image and Acronis TrueImage can write to NTFS partitions. All three software have very similar steps of creating/restoring a backup so you should have no problem using any of them.
