i dunno what's going on...........i reinstalled the old ram and had the same problem, then reinstalled the new ram and everything is just peachy.

have you check out the mobo forum? mainly with people who has the bg7...check with those people. Also, try taking out your new ram and reinstalling it...if that doesn't help, try a different slot.
make sure you are not running 3:4 or 3:5 or 3:6...set everything within spec...
