I was at EBGames this morning picking up the collectors edition of Prey (for $20), and in the time I was standing there in the checkout lane buying my game the cashier got three calls asking for Wii's. They were sold out.

Every Walmart around us has had at least 2 in stock. Within 50 miles I think we have 6. I live in N.W. Arkansas.. Maybe that is why. Arkansas has to be the most backwards place in North America. People around here just started getting cable. The store here in my town receive 6 Wii's for last Sunday. I've bought 5 and they still have 1. I felt kinda bad about buying all of them so I left the one which is still sitting on the shelf.

I just got mine last week, and I had to camp out the whole night...they aren't readily available everywhere.

What you said about America is false imho. Yes, we do spends Billions of dollars on games and our own entertainment, but the reason is because we can. Basic economics say that if you have money you will spend it. We just happen to spend our money on a gaming hobby as it appears you do too since you are in this forum.

Yeah 😀. I'm not a fanboy or anything as PS2 has some of the best games but PS3 is the biggest waste of money I ever seen(at least right now). By the time it's worth owning you could pick it up for $300. I would put the money toward something more useful.

You just live in a small town or something because I do and I've only seen one Wii since Launch and saw it through a bag being carried out the door on launch night. I wasn't there for one though. I do look just for the heck of it everytime I go into a store. But right now I ain't looking to buy one.

I have a PS3, and it's extremely enjoyable (even with just Resistance). I'd say it's worth $600 to me, but I got it for free! But I was going to buy one anyways, until I won it.

I like the Wii, and I think it's great to use. It has a lot of nice features, but if the game lineup is anything like the GameCube, I'll be buying it when they're CHEAP and then playing the games I missed.

I don't know why the OP is so negative towards America...that's really silly.

Eventually, I will buy a Wii, but I'm not going to drive all over town to find one. Phoenix AZ is a good sized town, and I'm sure I could find one if I really wanted to hunt for one. But, I'm not going to drive to multiple BBs, Walmarts, etc to find one.

Edit - I don't like your comments IamDavid. I respect most cultures. If I were to visit a foreign nation, you better be sure I'd take the time to at least gain a working knowledge of the language. And if American culture is so pathetic, as you put it, why does it dominate the globe?
