i think that you started off incorrectly. you jumped into your qualifications before including some key information. first, you should specify the position you are applying for (they may be hiring many positions), yet avoiding overused statements like "this is an answer to your ad" or "i am a senior in....". identify how you found the position and how you developed interest in the company. here, refer to any contacts you might have in the company. THEN, in your second paragraph outline your skills and experience.

question: what's the motivation behind stating that you're a U.S. citizen? unless specifically requested by the employer, omit it.

at the end, be more upfront about the interview. instead of stating "i would really like to get an interview" say "i will be available on so and so dates/times for an interview."
