My geforce DDR died the other day and I've been searching all over for a reliable place I could get a Radeon 8500 OEM with the 250mhz core/mem, not the 230... I've researched most of the places with good prices on pricewatch that are out of state (I live in CA and don't want to pay tax), all of the ones i've found either have horrible reseller ratings, they only have the 230mhz core, or if they have a decent rating I can't get them to pick up their phone. So does anyone know a place where I could get the 250 guaranteed with no hassle, about $200 or less shipped, has a good return policy in case anything goes wrong, and a place that is reliable?

thanks

personally, I'd rather pay tax then shipping, even if shipping is free, if you have a problem, you can't drive somewhere and get it fixed right away. I think online computer shopping isn't smart, as you can always get things locally for the same price.

I can't find it locally, they only have the 230 core and it's more expensive... I meant I didn't want to buy it from an online store in CA so I wouldn't have to pay tax... either way I'm going to be too far to return it without re-shipping it

Don't worry about the 230/230 so much as what the actual ram speed the card has. With the voltage mods to mem., you can easily overclock the card to Retail speeds, even if it defaults 230/230.
