How do i rename all the subfolders in a directory at once?

Like, i will type in:
ren *.blah *.blahblah

but how do i do it so it does it in all the folders in that directory instead of just the files in that directory?

Don't know if you can rename all directories, files it's easy, but from what I remember you can only do one directory at a time.

You can't do it from DOS without a batch file to help.

You don't need a batch file afaik, you just need a for loop. In a bourne shell, it'd be something like

for i in *.blah; do mv "$i" "${i}blah"; done

The dos solution is somewhat similar, but I don't know it off-hand (I never got too advanced with dos )

Google it. Surely it's explained somewhere out there.
