What is with this GDL BS?

I'm 20 (b.9-5-83). Never had a license, had my permit since June. Finished driving lessons (about $1000 worth) in a big E150 van which is highly modified since I'm disabled.

I must wait until December to take my road test? And even then, the license is restricted for six months?

I'm just worried because in between now and Dec I wont have driven anything...the next time this van will be available to me is for the road test.

The sooner I'm licensed, the sooner I can buy my own van, and dump another $20,000 into getting it modified.

I thought the GDL had an age cutoff?

Yes, it does, and you're in it.

People born before 1984 are grandfathered into the previous plan, where you get your full license at 17.

I thought so, but it looks like thats irrelevant if I didnt actually get my license when I turned 17...
