NJ DMV Question

I lost my DL a while ago, so I had to get a new one which now says "DUP" on it (duplicate).

I later found my original DL
When I go to renew can I take my original and the new one and have them remove the DUP status?

 

Your duplicate status will automatically be removed when you renew your license.

i think you are supposed to go and return the DUP one once you find the old one.
