*nix guys, What software for FTP and POP server?

My friend and I are co-locating a server for our webhosting needs, and we're also gonna sell some dink accounts to friends.

What software would be best for the FTP server, and the mail server?
This will probably be a NetBSD machine.

im not sure about "best", but it has more features that you can shake a stick at:

www.glftpd.org

its pretty amazing. has builtin bandwidth throtles and such.

as far as pop goes, i would suggest checking out the UW stuff (it can do both POP and IMAP):

FTP Server: either ProFTPD or GLFTPD. GL has much more config options, but may not be necessary. Pro is proven, stable, and inherently secure. Not that GL isn't, but I think Pro has advantages there.

SMTP Server: PostFix.

POP3: take you pick, but nothing wrong with QPopper.
