Nivea Pulls ‘White Is Purity’ Ad After Backlash

Heh, I know sometimes advertisers get an abnormal amount of flack for harmless goofs, always wonder how these things get past the x number of people who they need to in order to actually air it though. One of those 'how did this get past the design meeting?' things.

EDIT: Rofl, and props for the previous ad, posted lower on the page:

Just... seriously?

I don't see what the problem is.

The majority of the comments that are "upset" about it, do not even say why, they essentially just say "really Nivea?"

Umm what?

What's next, getting offended at a tooth whitening ad for saying the same thing?

Simple exhibit to demonstrate the degenerate support system: https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...sity-controversy.2495818/page-8#post-38657302

I've been here too long. I keep reading it as Nvidia. Even when I know it says Nivea, I autocorrect it. I was like, "Since when are white pixels an issue? AMD fanbois with their dingy pixels getting all jelly?"

I think the guy who routines calls blacks chimps explains it best. Just fyi your peers are easier to see sans the blind eye.

So you replied with something other than your own articulation of your feelings of how this offends you. Very disappointing.

I'm brown and not offended, so I'm just looking for somebody, of any color, who is able to tell me why the ad offends them.

I'm not going to read a link to a post with more links. You can either articulate how this ad makes you feel, or not.

Good luck with that. To have a straight answer from the troll that loves to pull the race card.

Here is what another poster said about this troll =

You're the one that won't shut up about race. I focus my hate on cultists.

And that poster is not alone about agent fail troll.

I'm sure Nivea can rectify this by complimenting a few of the good ones.

It's a tone deaf ad no doubt, but not the end of the world. More on a shake weight sort of level. Still a complete fail for its intended purpose.

The Pepsi ad tho... Yo WTF were they thinking. That one was just awful.

Lol shake weight. It's what I say to this whole thread.

you are such a simpleton.

1. everyone in the world has white teeth and that proposed ad wouldn't be offensive.
2. if you don't see how the Nivea ad could be taken as straight racist, well, then, you know what you are.

Big corporations exploiting social justice issues or not towing the political correct line of the day, unacceptable, social justice warriors have a cow.

Big corporations bypassing US rules and regulations by exploiting third world people in countries like Bangladesh so Americans can have the latest attire or other goods for cheap, crickets, and most social justice hypocrites could care less as long as they get the cheap goods they are brainwashed to believe they are entitled to.

I finally got around to watching the Pepsi ad. I was not offended but what a mess. It brings to mind that old phrase, "designed by a committee that never met."

The Nivea ad is whatever; one has to dig deep within ones self to find offense in that.

Can you tell me why it's racist and why you're offended. "That's racist" and "I'm offended" is not a reason. otherwise your post is badically another "really Nivea?"
