Nitric acid stain

Spilled some dilute nitric acid on my clothes in chem lab, is there any way to get the yellowish stain out?

Rub some sh*t on it! 😛

something that reacts with nitric acid to form a white salt would prolly work...unless the stain is from a reaction between the acid and the shirt

Any suggestions? I don't have lye (NaOH) laying around to try.

hmm well if it reacted with the shirt you are screwed...otherwise try some color bleach

why were you not wearing an apron?

i was going to suggest the same

a drycleaner *might* be able to get it out, but make sure you tell someone whats on the shirt, and make sure they write it down when you tell them.
