Looks like Nissan has another flop on its hands. Minivan buyer want functional security, not avant garde. That, and it's fugly.

I like the rear sunroof other than that its ugly. I don't own a minivan nor plan to in near future but i have been in my cousin's minivan and they are boxy. Those rear sunroofs would help a lot in keeping the passengers in rear seat happy.

it reminds me of a ford focus.

I do like the 2000 design. I think it looks fine.
Nothing too radical, it looks like what a mini van should look like.

I actually agree 90% with the GM man here...although, which recent Nissan's have been a flop?? B/C you say it like they've had a lot of 'em and I can only really think of one...the latest Q45

What ass-for-brains engineer decided that the speedometer belongs in the center console rather than in front of the driver?

And what is that lever for? The warp drive?

Several companies are doing this, and I don't understand why. I think they've said in studies that it makes looking at the gauges faster because they can be larger and placed higher so the eyes don't have to travel as far to see them. However, when people aren't used to looking to the right, I'm sure it actually makes things worse. You'd probably get used to it, but for a while I'd be looking down first, and then over.

I agree with you, a person shouldn't be looking off to the side for guages. There's a reason practically every other vehicle has them right in front.

And that lever is the shifter! Who the hell thought of that one? A kid...a typical person to ride in a minivan...could easily bump it, or even the driver could when trying to reach around it to mess with something that should be simple to operate like the radio.

It doesn't look anything like any other mini-van, and that's good, IMO. It's also big and powerful. It is too expensive though, and the gauges in the center trend (Toyota Echo, Saturn Ion, Quest) has got to go away, and go away fast!

Pointless. The little kiddies that will be sitting back there don't need that crap. What 2 - 8 year old gives a crap about a sunroof?

I'm guessing that auto manufacturers want centrally-located gauges to allow for a uniform console to be shared between American and European cars.

I think the ergonomics suck, though.

Not that I care much about minivans, but other reviews I've read of the Quest (such as Edmund's and C&D's) have been mostly positive.

I like everything about it except for the dash. Nissan could have definitly done better (I've actually been in the quest, I like the materials they use). It looks neat in person, but I hate center console designs.
