Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC) - Is there always GAP Protection?

My wife and I are fairly certain that we were told at the time we leased the car that our lease has Gap Insurance.

We called NMAC twice and got two clueless guys in India who didn't even seem to understand what Gap Insurance is. They both said "As far as we can tell, you don't have it"

Called the dealer and left a message, still waiting to hear back.

Looked through all the paperwork, no mention of either accepting or waiving gap insurance, heck not even so much as a mention of GAP at all...

FWIW, I thought I recall hearing awhile back that pretty much EVERY leasing company builds it into your lease, but I don't know 100%.

Anyone know?

Perhaps that is not the term they used, or it's built in if you take a higher MF?

I dunno, I saw something online about a GAP Waiver with NMAC (effectively the same thing), but I see nothing about that either with any of the docs we have.

Gonna try calling around to a few different dealerships today and see what they say, since my dealer isn't calling me back.

I'd guess it's built in. When I signed my NMAC lease there was no mention of it either.

Thats what we thought, but when we called NMAC India, they had no idea and said they didn't think we had it. Confusing. 🙁

My dad thinks that NMAC might just have en umbrella policy to cover all the vehicles they lease, as it protects them just as much as it protects us.
