We are going to see a slew of European people movers incoming to the US in 2007 while our dependence on oil becomes more and more evident. I am already starting to see these little guys around our roads in FL.

"1.5l diesel engine turbo charged"

"Well, this nippy car has completed a journey from Gaborone in Botswana to Maputo in Mozambique - a distance of 963 km - on less than a single tank of fuel at a consumption of just 3,3 l per 100 km."

1 liter = 0.264172051 US gallon
1 kilometer = 0.621371192 mile

.8717 gallons per 62.1371192 miles

Round up 71.28miles per gallon on diesel. VW, Mazda, Peugeot etc have offerings in this market as well. I sit back and wonder what the people who own RVs are doing now that their trips cost twice as much for the fuel.

Looks like a nice little car to me.. Like what a modern day tiny Citroen or Mini should look like. I'm not sure if you "it's ugly wah wah" people expect it to look like a BMW or what.

It looks like an uglified VW Beetle that had an incestual relationship with a Mini. Now, I usually like what other people consider ugly cars, but this one is way too much for me.

Why do car companies insist in making ugly cars? I just don't get it.

Isn't there a healthy middle ground between BMW and ugly?

Why would a relationship between a Beetle and a Mini be "incestual?"

So that people like mercanucaribe will buy them to prove they're not superficial? ;)

They are paying it because they can afford it.

Who would want to go on vacation driving a go-kart?

A. We don't care...
B. It's still cheaper than a Hotel + Rental Car + Plane Ticket ;)

Exhibit A: 6 of us took our 27' Four Winds out to San Diego just two weeks ago and stayed at Mission Bay RV Resort (Just 15 Min from Sea World and LaJolla Beach). We got ~ 7MPG all the way there and back towing our Kia. So about $400.00 in gas round trip from Tucson, AZ. The RV Park cost us $45.00 per night for full hookups.

That's for 4 Adults and 2 Kids...

Exhibit B:

According to Orbitz, that same trip for only 2 adults and 2 kids = $306 per person with one of those Car + Hotel + Flight deals Proof

Exhibit C:
$400.00 Gas + $180.00 for a 4 night stay = $580.00 to take the RV to San Diego for 4 Nights @ Mission Bay RV Park..

$306 Per Person x 6 People = $1836 to book with Orbitz for 4 Nights @ Mission Valley Resort...

You do the math... I rest my case..

RV @ 7MPG and $3.00/gal > Hotel + Flight + Rental Car.

JR.. ;)
