Maxima- pshaw!!

What idiot said it doesnt have cup holders? I have a 2001.5 wagon, and of course it has them. In the back too, in a fold down part of the back seat. Geeze what a goose this reviewer is. Only problem is Passats are more expensive than 20k

uhh well the Passats do have cupholders. Though the ones in my 2001 pre-facelift model suck ass and i dont use them the newer models have much better cup holders. Dont rely on the web for everything go out and look at the car. BTW the Passat will run over 20K. My GLX (Top of the Line) ran me close to 29K total with Tax, Tags etc.

The new Passats (2001.5+) have great cupholders. :) One of the few changes from the 2001 model. I will agree that the pre-2001.5 models cupholders were very poor. I'll post a picture if I can find one...

I'll add that I love my Passat, no complaints. The only other car from that list I'd consider against it is the Altima, but maybe that's just me.

Actually, the major flaw is the car is expensive. Its also better than the other cars, which kinda makes up for it.

True. You get what you pay for, I'd be going from a 1994 Toyota Corolla DX to a VW Passat that's skipping a level or two.

Actually Quoc, there was a significant change in the B5.5's (2001.5). The car is considerably stiffer. This was done to accomodate the w8 engine, which I believe is upwards of 300 HP.

Yes, I actually have a B5.5 myself. I should have been clearer by stating that I meant interior changes. I know they actually claim something like 2315 changes from the B5 to B5.5. I'll add that the exterior has some very notable differences--most notably the front end, chrome trim, and taillights. Thanks for pointing this out for those who were unaware of the differences.

If you had to rank body styles between generations of Mustangs...I think I'd put that one towards the bottom :(

I used to think the same thing... they grow on you though. They're tied for my favorite with the old Mach 1s and Boss Mustangs now.

It is a car not a dinner table. No cupholders needed. I will take the Passat over everything else in that poll.
