Nissan Maxima Bose Tape Deck

for you Nissan guys...my folks have a 2001 Nissan maxima GLE with the tape deck/cd player with the bose sound system. Why the hell does the tape player not accept the tape converters that can be used on cd players and mp3 players? I wanna use my ipod in the car, but the tape player keeps on spitting out the tape converter!

The wheels are probably too difficult to turn, so the tape player ejects the adapter. See how hard they are to turn with you finger.

that might be it.. Ill try another one and see,

Mine works fine, and I have a 2001 Max SE with Bose. I have found that it will sometimes spit the tape out if there's no signal coming through the adapter, so make sure to start the iPod BEFORE you put in the tape.

FWIW, I have found I get noticeably better sound quality through an FM modulator.

sometimes that happens on my car.. I find that if i hit the reverse button a few times (or once) right after i insert the tape it wont spit it out.

oh really? I mean, i HAVE the itrip... but like, that wastes the batteries and what not, and i figured a tape converter would get much better quality

I have a NewerTech RoadTrip! that I got for $10 when I bought one of their awesome 2100 mAh 1G iPod replacement batteries (I now get at least 20 hours battery life between charges). It's kind of a stripped FM modulator in terms of features, but it works well as long as you don't have a station on the same frequency, and draws no batteries, because it plugs into your car's cigarette lighter. I bought them both here. The RoadTrip! sounds a lot better than my old cassette adapter, and it's quite a bit less of a hassle (I leave it plugged into my rear-seat cig lighter socket on the rear of my console).
