I can't believe Nissan is still selling the same crappy Sentra they had back in '99. WTF is wrong with them? You think that with Renault owning a piece of the action, they'd be really good at making small cars? Can't Nissan just hurry up with their knock-off of the Megane? I guess they just suck too much!! This Japanese firm forgot how to make a compact car! And don't tell me they aren't making 'em cause the market doesn't buy 'em--sales of Civics, Corollas, Focii and even Lancers have skyrocketed! In fact, I think both Hyundai AND Kia have a better compact than Nissan! I don't care how many letters your Sentra has--E, R, S, V--whatever, your car still sucks! The Altima's already had a refresh and they're already working on the redesign, but this car hasn't changed? WTF is wrong with Nissan? Renault?

And where's the new 240sx/Silvia? Did they just decide to put 100% of their R&D into the new Skyline/GTR? By the time they have a new 240sx, all the fanbois will have 'graduated' to used S2000s!!

I'm sorry, I just had to rant on Nissan for so much suckage in the compact and econo-coupe classes responsible for their earlier successes in America. I bet they're just going to go the route of Mitsubishi soon (even the stock Lancer is better than your Sentra!!!)

Oh and Skoorb we miss u.
 
The Sentra is still selling pretty well and must be a major cash cow even today for Nissan (consdering their tooling is probably paid off).

As for a new 240SX, I dont see that happening for a long time. No way they can make it affordable and still keep hte charm of hte original (rwd, balanced chassis, etc..)

 
there'll never be another 240sx.

If you don't want to buy the 2.5 sentra, just shell out a grand or 2 and find an old 280z. That should tide you over until you come to your senses and decide you want a car that's actually being made.

Easy, I have $1000 car costs $2000 and I know of no one that is going to loan me another $1000 to buy it.
 
cmon dont you pay attention the design of the sentra has infact changed since 99...the 2000 and up is dramaticly different from the 99. And sentra's do sale quite fast..the local dealer around me can not keep them on the lot.

Dumbass, the 2000 was available in '99. I'm talkin about actual years, not model years.

 
I had a Nissan Sentra rental car... it was pretty nice, I thought. Fast enough, quiet, comfy seats, and good gas mileage. Nothing wrong with it, as far as I could tell.

Very boring, but perfect for someone who wants a basic car. Its like a more refined Cavalier. I wouldn't buy one for myself, personally.
 
Nissan makes some nice rigs. My wife has a Sentra, and I have an Infiniti I35......🙂


I think we are going to get her a QX4 though....she wants an SUV.....

i believe nissan is working on models to compete with the scion movement...as for the silvia platform it is long dead since 2002...nissan did now want the S15 and the 350z to compete against each other....the S15 was just as fast as the 350z but thousands cheaper. whats with the hatred of nissans anyways?

 
My mistake, I was thinking incorrectly. I had a 200SX. I think I'll replace it next year, since it'll only cost me $1k or so 😀
