Nissan 370z reviews are coming in...

The 2009 Nissan 370Z has the whole benchmark package wrapped up with a bow: price, exterior design, interior packaging, performance, features and that X-factor that makes you just want to go out and drive one, and drive it hard. Thinking of the Z-car as a sports car is one thing, but we can honestly say that there's not another sport coupe that can touch the new Z. Dare to compare.

C&D and MT gave it a pretty good thumbs up

edit: those don't really matter, I'll wait for top gear to review it

370z over G37 Coupe according to Edmund's own reviews:

0.4 sec better 0-60
0.4 better 1/4 mile
0.11 better skid pad
11ft better 100-0
Also weighs about 400lbs less

The 370z is aimed at the Evo/STi crowd, while the G37c is aimed more toward the bmw buyers.

5k is a lot of money

And there is more weight involved. If you are ever going to take it to the track or do mods to it...the 370 is the way to go.

Yes, this is exactly what should have been in place all along.

The 350Z vs. G35 Coupe 6MT, performance was almost indistinguishable, pricing was very similar, and personally I couldn't recommend the Z when the G coupe was more comfortable, more comfortable, and so on.

Now, they've really separated their markets well. Z is for sports/performance, and it shows, and the G remains a very competent contender in the entry-lux arena.

top gear doesnt review cars... they just drive them around while doing standup comedy.

I just love this thing more every time I read about it, it's just really, really beautiful and can put down some impressive numbers.

I'm a little concerned with outward visibility and that I may find it too cramped, but otherwise it's pure sex.

If Subaru doesn't wow me with the 2010 STi, one of these bad boys is going into the garage next year.

It's a nice car, but is there really *that* big a market for a ~$35k sports car? ...especially with today's economy.

I predict that within another car-generation or so we'll get a repeat of what happened in the late 90s when the Supra, 3000GT, and 300ZX all got canned because they priced themselves out of the market. I mean, what's the Evo at now, $40k?

I hear ya, but I think it makes a good statement in the portfolio of Nissan, and raises brand prestige for them.

Also, if you skip the 'sports' package, and get a base or near-base Z, you will get out the door @ $30k. It remains to be seen how many of the stripped models will make it onto dealer floors (BMW is notorious about not having optionless cars available in high enough numbers), but that's the pricing on it.

370Z base = ~$30k or a shade less.
Sports package + $3,500
etc.

Yup with the upgraded interior in the new 370, the base model might make a good daily driver.

Performance looks sweet. But the look just isn't that good to me, and the interior looks awful to me. It's a great car, but nothing *I* would personally purchase.

So true...and why it is so much fun. Actual car reviews are generally really boring...even on shows like 5th Gear.

Well, from my perspective, it's an improvement. Maybe it's a generational thing? I'm 31, so I remember growing up seeing 240ZX, 260ZX, 280ZX, etc, and I can see the Z heritage much more strongly in this one.
