The 350Z's performance pack - due to be announced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next weekend - is to be offered through dealers as an option. It includes a stainless steel exhaust, reprogrammed engine management system and a new air filter to boost power from 276bhp to 300bhp.
Torque will increase from 363Nm to 380Nm.

:D

That's pretty small gains, I hope it's a cheap option.

If the $1500 estimate is accurate I suppose it might be worth it, but that's not much of a gain.

True, but 24bhp w/ a factory warranty is a nice deal IMO :)

That looks like another $2300 or so. I do have to admit it looks damn sexy with that package.

Well its almost an increase of 30hp (ok 26hp really)! I'm not sure what the toruqe increase is in lb/ft measurements. Also, $1500 isn't that expensive for 30hp increase considering people spend that much on cams and/or head work and have less gains (or more depending on the car).

What would $1500 do to an LS1 though? (think 99 or later Z28)

I love the Z, but sheer power isn't it's strongpoint - nor should it be.

True, that's why they also have additional aero kits and suspension mods and lighter rims, all which focus on track racing. that said, an additional increase in power isn't a bad thing when you wanna power out of those corners! :D Have you seen pics of the 350Z with hte RB26DETT(think Skyline GTR) transplanted in it? Now thats SHEER POWER!!! :D :D

The 350z just became a whole lot more appealing. I wish Nissan offered a factory backed turbo on the engine though...maybe emissions certified to 350hp?...it would fit very well with the model name.

I thought the hp on a stock 350Z was 287.
That's only a 13 hp increase, and for $1500??? No thanks.

I'd save that money towards the Stillen turbo.

I'm not really sure that a chip, an exhaust and an air filter warrant $1500, though.

a reprogrammed ECU alone could cost upwards of $500.
throw in a $150 air filter/intake system, and the rest on the stainless steel exhaust, along with warranty and the price comes close.

i'm not saying that it's actually WORTH $1500 for the little performance gain you get.
but the price sounds about right.

What would $1500 get you on a GM 350? :D

I bet $1500 would get you more than 26HP on an LT1 or LS1 engine.. :p

Nismo...overpriced as always. What I want to know is, when's FI coming?

this is in the UK though, fromt he looks of this the UK model only has 270hp.. i wonder if this kit will even be available in the US, and if so--- how much difference it will make to performance/cost.

I personally don't like the kit... it doesn't flow with the Z's natural lines. It also looks like they tried to copy a Porsche GT2 with the front lip and the rear wing.

Its not horrible or anything though. I just think they could have done better :)

Hmmm, looks nice, and the additional output will be helpful, but I'm also not sure about teh price...and I agree that some of the lines seem to clash with the regular "flow" of the 350Z.

For many Z owners (myself not included), the cost of Nismo is worth it due to the warranty. Unfortunately, for it to be warrantied it has to be installed by the dealer, which introduces even more cost.

I'll pass.

you shouldn't be calculating what $1500 gets you, but instead what a stainless steel exhaust, ECU and intake do.
it's a known fact that these measly bolt ons aren't going to net huge gains, but will probably get more on a V8 than a V6.

There's a lot of misunderstanding around warranty and part coverage. Putting on an aftermarket exhaust for example won't void a warranty unless a problem comes up that the dealer can directly connect the problem with the new exhaust. Grubbs Infiniti in Dallas is going to begin installing ATI superchargers on G35 Coupes and keeping the warranty - they have been using this as their mantra.
