NISMO cams give 15rwhp increase in the Z!!

While the power increase started around 3500RPM, the main gains were achieved at 5800RPM - redline. When the upgraded ECU comes out with a 7400RPM redline, except more power gains to be seen with these cams!

How much are they? Knowing Nismo, probably ridiculously expensive.

Probably will be ridiculously expensive..but then its high-quality stuff..and leaves the warranty intact (if that matters).

WinkOsmosis: If the redline was extended, you'd be seeing more gains. Even then, the peak gain is only 15rwhp, but the increases starts from 3500RPM, so you're getting a whole lot more area under the curve.

No. A higher redline has more to deal wiht hte vavletrain -- specifically the valve springs. The higher redline TAKES advantage of the cams..hence allowing it to produce more power for a longer time (ie instead of 6500..it will make power all hte way to 7400).

BUt what I was saying earlier is that the cams allow more power to be produced across the entire powerband..so its not ONLY a peak increase of 15rwhp..the entire powercurve is shfited up.

Unfortunately, not under warranty for the G35. Wish I knew why but that's what Grubbs claims over at FA. Sucks, cuz the parts not hurting warranty is the only reason I would go with Nismo.

As for the redline ecu mod, sounds cool and I know the VQ is bulletproof, but I wonder if that higher redline would significantly affect reliability in the long run.

I wound't think so, because the engine can run safely at 7400RPM stock. I know the VQ30DEs that have the ECU rev at 7200-7400 (depending on application) safely. In any case, if you were to increase redline, you'd probably install other mods such as cams or varaible intake manifolds (which you guys get from the factory I believe) to take advantage of hte redline. And if your going ot install cams, you might as well install new valve springs which safely allow high rpms.
