Nip / Tuck question

I'm only on season 3 so please, don't spew any info out, but I'm wondering what the heck is that green stuff in the Dr.'s lounge that they always cut/eat/drink? It looks like some sort of grass, but they cut it and put it in that juicer or whatever the heck it is. Anyone?

that thing is gross. I was out with friends once and they dared my to drink 2 shots/glasses in a row. god I felt sick afterwards.
