finally got around to watching last night's episode and wow, just when you thought it was gonna cool down and get ready for the next episode something else ridiculous happened! i don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but DAMN!

It was almost too much insanity for one episode. Even for Nip/Tuck. It seems like they were just glossing over things in order to pack in even more instanity.

Yes, about the only TV series I watch are Nip/Tuck and Dexter.

Yes, it's worth watching.

As for the best seasons - the first is the best and there is a slight decline as it goes along - but...

but..

This show was never meant to be more than a nighttime soap opera, so if you take that in mind you should enjoy it quite a bit...

And I thought this new season was quite dis-jointed, but as it was to be 22-24 episodes and due the writers strike they cut back and as you can see with the last few shows that the creators crammed too many plot lines into the mix....

Do you have a source for that? It was the same length as any other season.

Wiki on season 5

I may not be fully correct, but I still believe this season has been affected by the writers strike. The many plot lines that had been set up seem to have been jumbled together in case the strike would have ended the whole season...
