What do you think of the name? Personally, I like it. I like what is stands for. Much better than "360". :)

Gah! "Revolution" is so much better sounding than Wii. Nintendo has been mocked as the "kids console" for some time and I think they have just continued to solidify that impression whether deserved or not.

I can see it now: "I've got to go and Wii." Bleh!

Honestly, Revolution was a better name.

I like it, it's different. I look forward to what the game experience will be. Rev... err.. Wii might be the only console I end up with out of the new generations, just want something different than what I've been playing all these years.

A lot of people knocked Revolution because it sounded gimmicky, at least Wii is original. Welcome back Warcrow? I just realized I havn't read many posts from you.

I wonder if people will call it "NW" for short.

They should have just made it an unpronounceable symbol. That would have been so much cooler.

I don't like the name at all. It sounds a little silly and will stain any conversations about the console I have with my friends. =/ I honestly liked revolution more.

WHAT THE HELL?
"lower mouse to check the date on the comp clock"... its not April 1st...
so, Reggie, Miyamoto, and Iwata must have finally taken some of those magical mario mushrooms!

Seriously though, its dumb... trying to be different is alright but this is just dumb.
Well atleast they didn't name it Wii-Wii... just imagine all the problems that would cause..

I like it. The weirder the better.

"Wii" - focus groups FTW? Still better than "revolution", which sounds a little cheap.

Sounds a bit childish and goofy to me. I think they're trying to go the way of 'google' and 'yahoo', but Wii just doesn't work. Google and Yahoo works because people really don't take those too seriously... but a gaming console, well, the last thing people want is to be view even more childish when playing games.

This isn't a precedent for Nintendo either. Nintendo was the first console to have online service actually, and they had big plans for it... including things like checking stocks online. But somebody who has stocks to check, weren't really thrilled with sitting infront of their console and using their joysticks to go check those stocks.

I think they're trying to make this console hip by using a silly name... but kids don't want to think they're playing with a kids system... they want to think they're playing an adult system. And adults, well, adults don't want to think they're playing with a children's system either.

That is the worst name for a console ever. Makes me not want to buy it.

I'll just refer to it as the console formerly known as revolution. I'm not a fan of the name, but I'm not surprised they picked something strange like this. Nintendo is trying to expand the market and apparently they think a quirky name will do that. Most established gamers will probably not make their decision to purchase based on what it is called. Maybe it will be a more approachable name than xbox360 or ps3. But for me the name is not very important.
