Do you think more companies are going to start making games to attract the "casual gamers" so they can make money,my only problem is that it seems to be a money tactic because nintendo is on top with their console are advertises it for the casual gamers.Recently i have heard companies say they would like to market to the casual gamer, does that mean we will start to see alot of party and simple games for the 360 and ps3.

So...it's wrong because it's a money tactic to make "casual games" for "casual gamers"? I guess I'm confused as to what the point of making games is. If you need a hint, it's to make money.

I think we'll just see more games in general. A lot of people seem be resistant to the idea of casual games but they are helping the market to expand. The bigger the market gets the more games that will be made. While a lot of those game may be crappy mini-game festivals there will still be plenty of big name hardcore gamer games being made. Just think some of those casual gamers might actually make the switch to hardcore gamer status someday. Another benefit is the more widespread gaming become the more likely it is that video games will stop being persecuted against.

There is clearly a market for so-called "hardcore" games. If Nintendo is able to capture the "casual" gamer market and bring in more people who will buy games, that means the industry will GROW. Existing markets will not be abandoned. Hell, even the PLATFORMER genre still exists. If that still exists, you really don't need to worry about the genres you like going away.
