Not sure if it's backwards compatible with any of Nintendo's gaming systems. It's not supposed to be a replacement for the GBA, just another gaming system. Supposedly they will continue making the GBA. I honestly believe the PSP will blow it out of the water. The PSP will be higher in price, but not that much more. But in terms of quality, the Sony PSP will play PS2 quality graphics, where as the Nintendo DS will have graphics much the same as the 64. The PSP will also play movies, although they will be on Sony's minidiscs. So you can't watch the movies you already have. :-(

I'm sure you could get one on ebay, or just about any auction site. The Gamecube has lots of Mario games as well.
