Nintendo64 on the computer by way of AIW Radeon?

My friend just got his AIW Radeon today (thanks Hawk!) and he was wondering if he could hook up his N64 to it. Now, I haven't seen this card in person yet, I am installing it for him Wednesday (he is busy till then 🙁) but could he just hook up the 3 RCA plugs to the card and hook the RF switch to the cable connector and play N64 by opening the TV player program?

Would this work?

Thanks.

PS-I dunno why in the hell he would want to play nintendo when he has a 1GHz, AIW Radeon, 256MB PC133 machine...but, whatever, its his call, he really likes Goldeneye...

yeah it should be possible.. I'm not totally sure on that.

if you can (I don't know, I don't have schematics for this card) connect the 64 DIRECTLY to the card via the 3 RCA jacks, you should be able to view it fine (don't know what program would be used for that, becuase a TV tuner type program would have to be told to go to those ports, rather then the Coax in for a signal, like a VCR does when you hit the AV button).

if not, then you need to connect the 64, via the RF connector (the one that puts it into a channel frequency, like channel 3 or 4).

Yeah...I didn't need an RF switch for my n64, my TV had RCA jacks. But I think the RF switch for the N64 works like you hook up the RCA cables to it and then into the TV...I just realized that. So, yeah, ch. 3 or 4 probably would work if it doesn't with the RCA jacks!

Thanks!

I'll report back on wed. if it works (that is when I am building his machine).
