Earlier this week, Nintendo said it had shipped 5.6 million GameCubes worldwide in the fiscal year ended March 31, substantially shy of its goal of 10 million.

I didn't realize just how small they were till I saw one. They are fricking small. if it comes with zelda and drips in price, I will get one. If for no other reason then I have extra money.

How about making a controller that doesn't suck ass?

I'll likely end up buying a GC when this promo comes into effect, but for heaven's sake, Nintendo, stop using Area 51 captives to test your controllers. Your primary users are HUMAN and find the current controller counterintuitive.

not really, the zelda fan will possibly buy the system just to play the game, but a lot more people will buy a game to get a free system.

Hmm...I like my GC's controller better than my Xbox's...I like the disparity between the different buttons. It does suck for certain types of games, like fighters for instance. Both are worse than a good old Dual Shock though. :)

IMO gamecube's controller is designed specifically for nintendo games, ie: zelda, mario, metroid, etc

all other games have to adjust to the controller

Great news! I've been debating whether or not to pick up a GC. Zelda surely will make my decision a lot easier!

I really don't understand all these complaints about GC controller. It took me a couple of days to get used to after using N64, but I had no problems after that.
