Nintendo to have touchpad controllers?

according to the gamefaqs poll of the day, nintendo's next console could have touchpad controllers?

Anyone have any links to stories that claim that this may be true, because I haven't heard of this yet.

From the way the poll is written, it seems like they just came up with this idea on their own. Why would nintendo make such an odd decision (unless they have surplus pads from the soon to be defunct DS)?
