I know thats CRAZY!

$11 for a memory card? $20 for a controller? Damn! Makes the PS2's stuff seem like a complete ripoff in comparison.

You could use the hard drive as a memory card with the Xbox, but they will still sell memory cards so you can take them over your friends or whatever.

<< Will the XBox need the memory card? I've heard both it won't and it will. >>

for saving games it will (according to the back of my pc gamer where they advertise their upcoming xbox magazine). the hard drive will be used for disk access for games, the saving goes to the card.

edit: not 100% sure, pika may be correct.

Taken from xbox.com, in an article regarding the dashboard,

<< At the highest level, it lets you do three things: manage memory (saved games on the Xbox Memory Units and Hard Drive), >>

I too thought at first they wouldn't let you either.

LOL :D

Yes, the Xbox will let you save all of your games on the hard drive. However, if you were to go over your friends house and wanted to use your saved games, you would have to buy a memory card, since you cant take out the hard drive or anything :)

<< ROBBERY!!! 28 bucks for a wire with shielding around! Those A/V cables pricing are ridiculous! >>

That's the only bad price I saw too. I'm sure there will be a third party one for $15 or less.

<< But you don't HAVE to buy one unless you're idiot [sic] and lose yours. >>

Yeah, it's $8 more then the svideo cable. Consider it an idiot tax. :p

Those are cheaper then DC accessories were....

We'll see what xbox accessories are going to be. I just hate owning anything with nintendo's name on it for fear of being labled a pokefreak

the gamecube controllers look very plasticky, kinda like the n64 controllers. Playstation controllers are the best quality IMO.

i like how Nintendo copied the PS2 controllers with the dual analog sticks in the similar position, and also by incorporating the shock mechanism.

11 bucks for 1/2meg.. what did you expect them to price that at? That's not even a good price when you consider meg for meg what you get with the Xbox or PS2 :)

Um, the N64 came out with The Rumble Pack, which was bundled with Star Fox 64. Sony copied their idea and incorporated it into their Dual Shock PS1 controllers, which carried on into the PS2 controllers. If anyone lacked originality that would be Sony. And the GC controller doesn't have dual analog sticks. (The C-Stick isn't technically a fully analog stick) ooh...I'm sure Sony could sue Nintendo over that one

It's a COMPONENT cable, and it's actually a good price if it's decent quality. I bought a set of cables for my DVD player, and they cost 45$...
