Ironic coming from the company that has been rehashing the same Pokemon game since 1996.

And yet people buy the new game. On launch day. And a new handheld to play it. Including me. *sigh*

Aren't those RPGs? Then they can be completely different. Its like calling each book of a series like Harry Potter "cookie cutter".

Single player story games in the same universe can be the same game but be entirely new content/story/chapter/etc.

When the point of the game is only simply running in circles killing people online and nothing else, there is only so much you can do with new levels and models, its still the same game, just shinier.

He's not wrong. You can say what you want about Nintendo but most of their first party games are top notch. There's a reason why they tend to dominate so many peoples' top ten of all time lists.

Nintendo actually puts effort into their first party titles and gives that same dedication to all their platforms. Games on 3DS are just as good as games on Wii U. The same can't be said for Sony (I'm looking at you Resistance: Burning Skies).

Their only really bad game that sticks out in my head is Zelda II. Though perhaps bad isn't the right term. It's too much a black sheep, not to mention its difficulty soured a lot of peoples opinion of it. Even Miyamoto says its not his favourite.

Ironic coming from the company that has been rehashing the same Pokemon game since 1996.

Pokemon has evolved over time, no pun intended. The game play hasn't changed much but a lot of new content has been added over the years. Now if you want an RPG that is rehashed, play Disgaea. It hasn't changed at all since the second game.

Waiting for Ocarina of Time 3D to come down. It hasn't budged since launch. Greedy bastards, I already have every other version on every other system. Won't buy used either because its only $3 cheaper.

Fucking resellers and their Mario / Zelda taxes.

Keep holding your breath. Big N never lowers the prices of their first party titles. I have it and it definitely does live up to the original.

Ill wait and find it at a yard sale for 50 cents.

I'm all for supporting developers, but shit this isn't even rehash, its literally the same game again for full price.

I mean even Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix is only $39 and its 3 games touched up and remastered.

This. When they announce the special edition Zelda bundle. I am preordering on Amazon and Gamestop same day.

3ds XL is the only system I really want to purchase. PS4 and Xbone are too expensive for what you get. Would rather wait for prices to come down and hardware revisions, If I buy them at all. I learned the hard way on 360 and PS3. Got into PC gaming in the last six months and have found it to be superior. Exclusives outside of Halo don't interest me that much. I am tempted to buy a Wii U but I think a revision is on the way for storage. They are stupid cheap on craigslist(200). Nintendo is the only company I would buy a system for to play their exclusives.

Nintendo has just been to busy trying to become the Apple of consoles, they specifically want their software (OSX), hardware (rMBP), etc all to work together to bring home their experience. If the Wii had seen the same sales numbers are the Wii U right now without the massive sales Nintendo would probably not be in the game anymore and we would see Mario on the PS4 and XB1.

As for Sony characters they have a pretty solid stable, way more than MS has.

God of War (Kratos)
Uncharted (Nathan Drake)
Infamous (Cole MacGrath)
Little Big Planet (Sackboy)
Twisted Metal (Sweettooth)
Ratchet & Clank (title characters)

Those are just for the PS4, if you go back through generations Sony (unlike Nintendo) usually has different games & characters each generation. The PS2 for instance had Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper (though he eventually made it onto PS3), among others, while going back further we had Crash on the PS1.

Some titles have seen new releases on current hardware but each generation had their own stable of Sony exclusives.

Nintendo does not do this, and probably never will. Microsoft can't do this even if they wanted too. The Masterchief is just way way too popular and other than Gears of War and Forza they really do not have much of anything.

They are still there.

They just lost all the third party developers.

Square and Rare probably Nintendo's biggest losses.

Considering what we have seen Rare and to a lesser extent Square put out since seperating from Nintendo, those aren't exactly big losses at least :D

They're still here buddy. If anybody changed, it is you.

A crapton are coming.

Coming, that's the problem. They had a HUGE head start over the new Xbox and PlayStation and didn't take advantage of it. Huge mistake

A crapton you say? NO

You get another 2d donkey kong country platformer, a super mario 3d land clone, bayonetta 2, wonderful 101, pikmin 3, another mario kart and next year smash bros. Every other game including Watch Dogs and Batman Arkham Origins will be available on PC/PS3/360/PS4/XB1.

That's Nintendo not even trying to me which is why I sold my WiiU for now.

none of those sony franchises have been announced for ps4 except infamous, so i wouldn't say those are just for ps4. those were all ps3.

10+ foreseeable quality exclusives over the next couple years isn't enough? The Xbone and PS4 don't even have close to that.

The PS$ is dry as hell until mid-2014. I haven't seen the Xbone lineup but I assume it is similar. By your logic, they aren't trying either.

Most of the quality 3rd party games are on PC.

Can't deny that. They are bad at getting games in the pipeline at device launch. Same thing happened with the 3DS - dry as hell for the first year. It has picked up tons of steam now though.

The same thing can be said for most consoles, though. Launch lineups are pretty weak. PS3 was exceptionally bad. 360 wasn't much better. We'll see about PS4 and Xbone.

I would hope Nintendo would drop the price of the Wii U. $360 is way too close to the $400 PS4.

Every single WiiU game that I did not mention will be better on PS4 XB1 or PC. That's unavoidable. The PS4 and XB1 launch lineup is tons better than the WiiU and I would even say the day one games on them will have outclassed an entire year of WiiU releases. Sony has said they have 40 games 20 of them exclusives for the PS4's first year, 1/3 of them new IPs. Microsoft has announced there will be 15 exclusives for the XB1 in the first year and 8 of them are new IPs.

Panzer Dragoon

Where did this come from? I must of totally missed something about PD being mentioned. The only thing I can recall when the PD name was even mention was how Crimson Dragon looks to be a clone of it. I just want to read up on it and see as Sega seem content just letting it drift away as time passes by.

I pulled it off a list somewhere and just copied it down. I see now after looking it up that Crimson Dragon is from the creator of Panzer Dragoon and someone likely messed up and typed it in their list. I've edited my post
