Lol, so my Dad (64 yrs old) calls me up at work and asks me to look out for the Wii. The reason? He wants to give it for my sister's father-in-law's 70th birthday.

If this isn't proof Nintendo has succeeded, I don't know what is.

maybe when i am 64 years old i'll find one :(

The only way people I know got it was by camping out to get them or by having "connections" with nearby retailers.

It's so crazy that they're still not readily available. The system's been out for 5 months now!

Why is it the people who are trying their ass off to get something can't but the ones who could care less end up finding it with ease?

years ago my brother in law got a PS2 to put in his BMW X5, he wasn't a gamer at all just wanted it to have it. And somehow managed to get it right when it came out.

Yeah it's amazing....no amount of BS marketing can amount to the truth with the WII....

I let one of my friends borrow mine while I was outta town and he let his mom try it out (he lives with his mom) and she told him that nite.....I'm getting one tommorrow...She managed to track on down....well anyway recently I was leaving town again and my buddy called me up and asked me if he could borrow my Wii again....I said why do you need mine, you have one at your house....then he told me that he never got a chance to play his "mom's wii" because she was always playing it all the time and whenever he started playing it she wanted to play....his mom is 50+ yrs old....

very true, the last console I owned was a Dreamcast, well I bought an Xbox but sold it after 3 weeks. My GF got a WII and it's fun as hell, we played Rayman Raving Rabbids for hours. I hadn't had that much fun in a long time with any non PC game.

Call Of Duty was interesting, the Wiimote + Nunchuck really threw me off, I thought Halo on the Xbox with a gamepad was hard. I sucked @ COD but I enjoyed how different it was control wise.

My wife loves the Wii. She doesn't play any console games and has otherwise never cared one bit about any playstation/xbox etc etc. That tells me there's probably a huge market out there of people who are not hardcore gamers who are going to love the Wii. The hardcore gamers will definitely go for the xbox 360 or the PS3, but the non hardcore gamer will get a Wii.

That's great... Wii Sports is a great way to get old people moving around.
