EDIT: Well, I got me a Nintendo DS Lite, so I guess that opens up the list of game that I can get...

So I've been told that I should find something to do at work during the slow season. So I researched portable gaming systems, and the GBA looks like it might work. Here's a list of games that I came up with (after viewing all 1060 on amazon). If I'm missing any that are highly recommended, please let me know. This is just a rough first list--I'll be going through their reviews on Gamespot later tonight... Also, where in the hell do you buy games for these things? I prefer to buy new, but very few places have a decent selection...

Blackthorne
D&D: Eye of the Beholder
Donkey Kong Country 2
Doom 2
Final Fantasy 1 & 2: Dawn of Souls
Final Fantasy IV Advance
Final Fantasy V Advance
Final Fantasy Tactics
Jazz Jackrabbit
Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
Megaman Zero 4
Metroid Classic
Metroid Fusion
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
SD Gundam Force
Serious Sam for GBA
Space Invaders
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Super Mario Advance
Super Marios Bros. Class NES
Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 <-- bought this game... I suck at Mario... :(
Super Street Fighter II
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3
Trouble / Connect 4 / Perfection
Wolfenstein 3D

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
Mario Tennis Power Tour

Also: if you can, get a DS Lite instead. It really goes without saying, however, so I assume that you've already decided against it.

Metroid Zero you can find in the used bins at Gamestop for just several dollars....I know you said you prefer new but it's about the best platform I've ever played and looks great in my GBA slot in the DS.

First off, I can't recommend this enough. It really makes it a lot easier for you: http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/simpleratings.asp
Select Gameboy Advanced and set it to 50 results or 100.

To save you some trouble, I've written up some responses.

You have FFT in your list, you may want to look into Fire Emblem, Ogre Tactics, Advance Wars, and Super Robot Taisen.

You've got a bunch of Super Mario games, but missing some of the highest rated in the series. Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 and Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3.

You may want to look into the Castlevania games.

Thanks for the link. The Mario games you listed are the ones that I have as well. I just didn't do their full names... But I'll edit that, for future clarity. Thanks for the suggestions.

You might want to look into Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island as well. It's got some of the most amazing 2d graphics I've ever seen. It also got a good score. It is a super complex game though. I found it fun for a while, but then it got overly complex. But you might want to take a look anyway.

I also wanted to point out that Final Fantasy Tactics isn't the same game that it was on the PSX. Although, the beginning did look interesting.

Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2.

Ugh, why the fvck did I get a Super Mario game as my first game. I just realized that I fvcking suck at these games. LOL. Oh well. I'll be busy with this one for a while, albeit exceptionally frustrated. I should have chosen a RPG game or something...

Why can't they have FF7 or something for this thing. LOL

I also recommend the Fire Emblem series- very addicting and long games, there is 1 Japan-only Fire Emblem and two English ones on the GBA.

Also I recommend Shining Force, a tactical rpg. Unlike Fire Emblem or FF Tactics, this one has town elements like traditional rpg's where you wander around, talk to people, find stuff and buy stuff. It's the reason I bought a GBA. It's also less complicated to enjoy compared to Fire Emblem & FF Tactics in my opinion, and I like how the magic let's you attack multiple enemies at once.

also, if you want an RPG, NOTHING beats Golden Sun! There are two games in the series, and they are some of the best RPGs I've ever played (and I play a LOT).

If you are a fan of the genre, pick them up...and make sure to play with headphones. AWESOME music for a portable!

Where the hell do you get this game at? I can't find it anywhere... Still searching, and I would prefer to buy new, so I haven't gone to ebay yet....

Golden Sun was alright. It had its moments, but i started to find it a bit dull after a while, But thats just me.

If you are a fan of action in the slightest, get Gunstar Super Heroes. One of the best action games on the GBA, if not the best.
