Depends on the game. Not sure about that game, but most games have 2 options: Download play, and regular wifi play. Download play means that the DS with the card (Yours) sends a small file to other DS's, which they receive via the main menu under 'DS Download Play'

Usually, the game doesn't include as many levels(Mario Kart for example only has 3 levels compared to like 15 in the full ver), or has some features removed. As soon as you turn off the DS that was sent the file, it loses it unless you re-download it.
With Poker, I could only assume it'd keep all the features of the regular poker due to poker being inherently simple.

If it supports download play, however, is something I don't really know.

Download Play seems to take awhile to start-up too.. assuming it's taking awhile to transfer the data. I remember it took about 3-4 minutes to play Mario Kart DS with my sister when only I had the cartridge.

I dont think it takes THAT long... but it isn't as insta-quick as one would expect it to either. For some other games like Tetris DS, it is really quick in comparison. Even Elite Beat Agents is decently quick.

But yeah if only I can have more people with Tetris.... 3 people amongst family playing it can be insane. and especially passing it amongst relatives can be pretty fun even for such a simple game.
