Nintendo DS lite vs PSP?

Always being on the road, and having a laptop, I thought it might be fun to have a little hand held game machine to play games on. Anyone use both of these, and can compare the pros/cons between both? I know there is a huge price difference btwn them

I don't know about the PSP but I just got a DS Lite the picture is great even on low which has a battery life of about 19 hours. Lots of games as it is backwards compatible.

everyone i know who has a PSP used it relentlessly for about 1 month. then after they it began to collect dust.

and those same people who saw my DS lite now went out and purchased a DS lite.

i personally have hated portable systems since the first gameboy. however the ds lite changed me and now I find me playing the lite more than my xbox360 ... a lot more. i was playing mario kart last night against 3 other people online while laying in bed. how cool is that?

DS Lite for games and innovation, and an upcoming innovative Opera browser.

PSP if you feel like kicking a new toy around for a month.

I'd warn you first, though, if you have big hands, the DS Lite will NOT be comfortable to use for a long period of time. go to a B&M store and try one out first before you get it. I have average/small hands and I have trouble holding the DS Lite for more than 1 hour.

I dont own either but if I were to get one I would get the DS Lite. It looks so badass, the games are better, you have nintendo who owns the portable system market, its backward compatiable, and you can play on wifi.

the PSP is more of a gimmick to me...Sure you can watch videos, but UMDs suck and the battery life is very short. That being said..I do think the PSP screen is sexy.

Both have very different game libraries. Study both and then decide on your system.

DS Lite all the way for me. I got one the day it came out for my birthday. 🙂

Surprisingly, out of:
-Mario Kart DS
-New Super Mario Bros.
-Advance Wars: Dual Strike
-Animal Crossing
-Nintendogs

...Nintendogs has been spending the most time in my system.

lol i gave up on NIntendogs after it made me say my dogs name like 5 times over and over and just wouldn't let me go to the next part.

I vote DS Lite. There's enough nice titles out now to keep you busy, but Q3 and Q4 this year are going to bring about a ton of big titles.

As another poster said, the DS lite can get annoying for big handed people (as I imagine any portable system could). I don't have huge hands, but I can't hold mine for more than a few hours at a time. I suggest getting a game that doesn't require holding the DS for to play (one that relies heavily on the touch screen) - that way you can sit it on your knees/lap/table/desk/airplane tray/whatever and play that way. Advance Wars is one like this. Lost Magic is also like that - I picked this one up last night and love it so far.

DS Lite. Games are better plus you can pick up classic GBA games like Zelda: Minish Cap.

Where is the pollage?

They really need to make a Fire Emblem game for the DS.

Edit: And another Advance Wars game.

Dual Strike is owning me on the black boat level 🙁

That's what, like 11-12ish? Did you read any of the FAQs on GameFAQs? I can PM you the general strategy I used.
