Nintendo DS Lite users, does your DS Lite freeze a lot?

I just got a DS Lite and I noticed that it freezes up a lot and sometimes it doesn't even recognize the DS carts. I blew some compressed air into the slot and onto the game carts and sure enough it works okay but it still froze up on me at least a few times.

I borrowed my cousin's DS Lite and sure enough the same thing happens. He told me that it's normal and even another person I spoke to said it's normal for the DS Lite to often times freeze up.

For those who have a DS Lite, is this normal? Is there a fix? I mean seeing it on my cousin's DS makes me believe it's a normal occurance. Can anyone tell me otherwise?

Updated: REVISED: Does your DS Lite sometimes not read that there is a cart inserted?

Update part two: I was able to try a brand new DS game and sure enough, it worked fine. I tried two brand new games in fact. It looks like the carts I have are kind of busted. It makes sense that I tried it in my cousin's DS Lite and the same thing happened.

No, it's not normal. a DS(Lite) should never freeze.

I've tried several games. I've tried Mario Kart, Tony Hawk's Underground, Super Mario Brothers, and Animal Crossing and they all tend to freeze but sometimes I can get it to go without freezing.

I've played mine to death and it's never frozen once. Once in a while it won't recognize the cart, but a quick eject and insert takes care of that.

A DS should never, ever, freeze. If it's under warranty, I'd suggest sending it back. I once had my DS Lite running for about 10 hrs in a row (don't ask why :p) and it never skipped a beat.

nevar! what an awesome system. and I hated the original release of the DS, what a clunky brick.

It doesn't like my Revolution DS cart that much, but it's most likely the casing that does it.
