Nintendo is releasing a new console in 1-2 years? This is news to me. Where did you hear that?

Nintendo said "We still have developers working on popular core gaming franchises but we need longer to complete these games, approximately two to three years." That's 2010-2011. About the time I would expect them to be introducing the next console at trade shows.

The Wii has too much crap-ware. It's like they let any developer take a week to complete a game and they slap the nintendo seal on it. Tthe motion plus is just fleecing of consumers.

Haha.

I wish they would do a real Paper Mario game, and not the crap that Super Paper Mario was.

Also, they should make another Pikmin...

And Kirby....

And Bomberman...

There's a Bomberman coming to WiiWare and a full version with Mii support and 8 player online multiplayer. But Bomberman isn't a Nintendo published game.

They just released Zelda and Metroid for the Wii. I believe they also released a Mario Party for the Wii as well.

 November 2006 for Zelda is just released? Metroid came out August 2007. Mario Party came out May 2007.

Given how much easier it is to develop games for the Wii than other platforms plus the fact that the Wii Motion Plus is coming out in the Spring, I would have expected more for 2009.

Wow, do people really expect a new Zelda / Metroid / Mario game every 1 to 2 years, plus the resurrection of other franchises along the way? Granted, the sequels seem to be planned pretty far out, but good games take time to develop. Obviously it's clear that these have not necessary been the main focus of Nintendo, though.

metroid prime 2002
metroid echoes 2004
metroid prime3 2007

just because the wii sold out like crazy, it's like a 5 mile run where there is always an idiot to take off and then he runs out of energy after half a mile and gets overlapped by everyone. That idiot is nintendo.

Even if they did drop slightly, theyre still selling more Wiis per month than the PS3 and the 360 combined, as has been the norm for quite a long time by now. Its hardly sane to start planning for its demise.

Although if nintendo should have learned anything from the PS3 launch, its that the hardcore gamers on the net are fickle bitches that need to be catered to constantly. We'll turn on a company in a second, and just like Sony went from loved to hated, the same can happen to nintendo on a dime.

On the other hand, it still comforts me to know that they take 2-3 years on each title to do it right, and it shows. You'd think a company of their size would be able to do it right AND do it fast.

I don't think the japanese abandoned sony.. They just waited before buying what they knew they would ultimately buy and kept playing their ps2 or DS.

Nintendo doesn't have to wait 3 years to make a game. I think they plan it for 3 years but knock it out fast. I mean, how long did SSBB take? Considering they probably reused tons of material from previous iterations... Same goes with all other big Nintendo AAA titles (Except Galaxy)

Either that or they have really small studios or work on a ton of other Nintendo projects on the side.

I really don't know what they could possibly design next... a 360 with waggle controls?

or maybe with all the money they made, they could make a REAL state of the art console.. Like the n64 or GC before.

When I first saw Wave race for the GC or Rogue Squadron, I almost had a heart attack.

dude go for it, the psp is a mini ps3. I have it and don't even want a ps3 anymore. the menus look just like the ps3. It's amazing.

if you get a webcam for the psp (coming soon) and have it connect to your ps3, you can check out what's happening in your crib on the go. (wifi connection applies)

dude starfox adventures was ONE OF THE BEST adventure games I have ever played. The graphics are 360 quality. Everyone would agree if they played the game. It's a real gem (RARE made back when they were good... as to be expected)

the OST is as good as DKC's.

It was a decent game that had some fun parts but not that great. The graphics were great in it's day but not 360 quality. Well I guess that really depends what you mean by 360 quality graphics.

Call me crazy, but remote play is the main seller for me on the PSP. There's no TV in my bedroom, so with the PSP I can play some of the PSN games using remote play. In addition, I want a baseball game for my handheld, and MLB The Show 08 for PSP looks and plays fantastic. They did an awesome job shrinking down the PS3 version for PSP.

Remote webcam sounds interesting, I'll have to look into that.
