Nintendo 64 power cable question.

I have a n64 with one of those big power cable brick things on the back. I plugged it into an outlet that had a dimmer switch on it. It blinked once and never came back on.

Do you think I just need another power cable or is something on the inside fried? I don't want to go through the hassle of buying one on ebay if it is something inside fried.

Or is there someway I can test it? No one around here seems to have a n64 so I can just borrow the power cable to test it.

I don't think you're going to find may people who have experience with plugging an N64 into a dimmer switch... so good luck.

Aren't N64's like $15 bucks now on eBay? I say just get another one. I thought the N64 used the same power cable as the Gamecube? Maybe I'm mistaken though.

Oh man, I remember back in the day when we would play our N94 on our BW TV. So awesome. But now I have it next to my Xbox 063. :-/

Not the same power cable but the same A/V cable.
